for the first equation

√x^2 +1 = x-2 we square both sides bro get rid of square root sign

(√x^2 +1)² = (x-2)²

x² + 1 = x² - 4x + 4 we collect like terms

-4x = 1-4

X = 3/4

for the second equation

√x^2-1 =x+2. we square both sides to remove square root sign

(√x^2-1)² =(x+2)²

x² -1 = x² +4x + 4

4x = -5

X = -5/4
