Explanation:

It's Naveen birthday he is planning to celebrate it his wife told him about a bakery shop where fresh bakery items were delivered. Naveen went to the bakery shop he saw the rate card in which pastry cost ₹25 and cup cake cost ₹50 Naveen spent the total of ₹250 for buying x pastries and y cup cakes

( 1 ) Write the equation which represents the purchase made by Naveen.

25x + 50y = 250 this describes that x pastries costing ₹25 and y cupcakes were bought costing ₹50 each for a total spent of ₹250.

( 2 ) If Naveen wants to make a combo of cupcakes and pastries what is the maximum number of cupcakes did can buy ?

Because Naveen wants a combo of cupcakes and pastries. This means he will want at least two pastry and cupcake.

Let' begin by purchasing 2 pastries:

25x + 50y = 250 where x = 2

25 (2) + 50y = 250

50 + 50y = 250

subtract 50 from both sides:

50 + 50y - 50 = 250 - 50

50y = 200

divide both sides by 50:

50y/50 = 200/50

y = 4

so this means Naveen may buy a combination of buy 2 pastries and 4 cupcakes.

( 3 ) If Naveen buy 2 cupcakes how many pastries did he buy ?

Since cupcakes = y substitute into the equation where y = 2

25x + 50y =250

25x + 50(2) = 250

25x + 100 = 250

25x + 100 -100 = 250 -100

25x = 150

25x/25 = 150/25

x = 6

So when 2 cupcakes are bought, 6 pastries are bought to equal a total spent of ₹250.
