What I did is multiply numbers 1 through 10 (or how many needed) with 3 until I would get an amount that when adding it with 10 would be over 22.

So, that's what I did, and I will show it.

3x1=3

3+10=13

It's under 22, so it wouldn't be correct.

3×2=6

6+10=16

(under 22)

3×3=9

9+10=19

(under 22)

3×4=12

12+10=22

If the question were saying 10+3k=22 then this would be the answer, but since 10+3k is over the amount of 22, we have to do one more.

3×5=15

15+10=25

So, 5 would be the answer. 5 is the amount of k. (Use 3×5=5 15×10=25 to show your work or use everything I wrote and say 5=k)
