Answer:

y = -7/8x - 97/8

or 8y + 7x = -97

Explanation:

7x + 8y = 18

=> 8y = -7x + 18

y = -7/8 + 18/8

If two lines are parallel, their slopes are equal. So slope is -7/8

given m = -7/8, y = -13, x = 1

y = mx + b

-13 = -7/8(1) + b

-13 = -7/8 + b

b = -13 + 7/8 = -104/8 + 7/8 = -97/8

so y = -7/8x - 97/8

=> 8y = -7x - 97

8y + 7x = -97
