Explanation:

isolate the x by subtracting anyone, I'm going to subtract 14x from both sides so,


6+3x=-15

then subtract 6 from both sides to get x by itself so,


3x=-21 [-15-6 is -21]

then divide both sides by 3 to simplify x so,


x=-7 [-21/3 is -7]
