Pls somone help me I need the answer pls

Anita went to lunch with some friends and paid $260 for the final bill, including tip. If they left a 16% tip, what was the bill before the tip?

Answer:

The bill was $218.40 before the tip

Explanation:

The $260 is the amount with the tip, if 16% of the bill was the tip, we need to find what 100% - 16% of the bill is.

[] First, 100% - 16% is 84%

-> We need to find 84% of $260

[] Next, 84% can become 0.84

-> 260 * 0.84 = $218.40
