Answer is D:45

We are able to figure this out because we know that these are opposite angles, which means that we know 50 = (3y +5), and 70 = (2x +4)

A variable next to a number means we have to multiply them. We take 50-5 and get 45. What times 3 is 45? 15!

70-4= 66, 2 times what equals 66? 33!

That just leaves us to find the sum of the two, which means we have to add 33+15 which equals 45!
