A heterozygous butterfly (white) would be classified as Ww

A yellow butterfly would be classified as ww

W w

w Ww ww

w Ww ww

Based on the Punnett square, we have two 'Ww' and two 'ww' genotypes when we cross a heterozygous butterfly with a yellow butterfly.

50% Ww (heterozygous offspring)

50% ww (recessive offspring)
