There are several ways to find area of triangle from vertex coordinates, the easiest is: (x₁*(y₂-y₃) + x₂*(y₃-y₁) + x₃*(y₁-y₂)) / 2

Area = ((-1)*(-6 - -6) + (-6)*(-6 - 2) + (3)*(2 - -6)) / 2

= (0 + 48 + 24) / 2

= 72/2

= 36
