Remember that we see the color of objects because that color bounces off the object and back to our eyes. The other colors are soaked up by the shirt like a sponge. Why do you think the green light is the least effective color to give plants energy to grow?

Green light is the least effective due to plants already being green.

Green light is the least effective color to give plants because most plants are already green. Since the plants are green they are unable to absorb the energy coming from the green light. They will reflect the green light while not absorbing any of the energy.
