let me give you a mouthful of something
the domain of f(x) is the range of its inverse, or namely the domain of f(x) is the same set as the range of f⁻¹(x), so for any (a , b) pair on the domain of f(x), there's a (b , a) on the range of f⁻¹(x).
now, that's a bit of of a mumble, but in short it means, if f(x) has a point of (3 , 5), then the graph of f⁻¹(x) has a point which is the same pair but flipped sideways, namely (5 , 3).
that's pretty much true for any function that has an inverse.
