Answer:

Width of rectangle is 38 inches

Explanation:

Let L be the length of the rectangle and W the width of the rectangle

Length is four times less than twice width in equation form is
L = 2W - 4

The perimeter is 220

Perimeter = 2(L + W) = 220

So L + W = 220/2

==> L + W = 110

Substitute for L in terms of W
(2W - 4) + W = 110

2W - 4 + W = 110

3W - 4 = 110

3W = 110 + 4

3W = 114

W = 114/3

==> W = 38

So width of rectangle is 38 inches

length of rectangle is 2 x 38 - 4 = 72

L + W = 38 + 72 = 110
So, everything checks out
