Explanation:

h=high temperature

h=81

l=low temperature

l=-29

d=difference in high and low temperature

h-l=d

81-(-29)=d

81+29=d

d=110 ==> |81 - (-29)|=|81 +29|=|110|=110

|81 - (-29)|==> C

|81 -29|=|52|=52

-29 + 81=81-29=52
