Answer:

Parallel: y = -4x + 23

Perpendicular: y = (1/4)x - (5/2)

Explanation:

Parallel Line:

y = -4x + 1; (6, -1)

(x₁, y₁)

y - y₁ = m (x - x₁)

y - (-1) = -4 (x - 6)

y + 1 = -4 (x - 6)

y + 1 = -4x + 24

y = -4x + 23

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Perpendicular:

y = (1/4)x + 1

y - y₁ = m (x - x₁)

y - (-1) = (1/4) (x - 6)

y + 1 = (1/4) (x - 6)

y + 1 = (1/4)x - (6/4)

-1 -1

y = (1/4)x - (5/2)

I hope this helps!
