Answer:

(a) 9a + 2

(b) a = 5

Explanation:

Perimeter of a triangle = sum of sides

=

2a + 1 +
3a + 2 +
4a - 1
----------

9a + 2 Answer (a)

If perimeter = 47 , then 9a + 2 =47

Subtract 2 from both sides

==> 9a = 47 -2

9a = 45

a = 45/9

a = 5
