Answer: x=5/4

Explanation:

−6−(−4x+2)−x=-(5x-2)

−6+4x-2−x=-5x+2

-x+4x-6-2=-5x+2

3x-8=-5x+2

3x-8+8=-5x+2+8

3x=-5x+10

3x+5x=-5x+5x+10

8x=10

x=10/8

x=5/4

Hi there,

I hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy during this anomalous time.

-6 -(-4x + 2) - x = -(5x-2)

The first step is to distribute

-6 + 4x - 2-x=-(5x-2)

Now let's subtract the numbers

-8 +3x = -(5x-2)

3x - 8 = -(5x-2)

3x - 8 = -5x+2

3x = -5x + 2 +8\\3x = -5x +10

3x + 5x = 10 \\8x = 10\\x = (10)/(8)

Once we simplify that, we get:

x = (5)/(4) as the answer

Happy to help! All the best this semester.
