Why is blood sticky? You can thank fibrin (A kind of sticky protein) that helps your body with blood clots. When you get a cut, fibrin kind of acts as a mesh to help your skin rebuild its barrier and fully heal the cut.


Why is blood-red? When hemoglobin carries/interacts with oxygen in the lungs, it turns a bright red color. The old tale of your blood being blue is false, since for it to be true, oxygen wouldn't be in your cardiovascular system and that would result in hypoxia and death.
