Explanation: 3x + 4 = 5x - 6
-4 -4
3x = 5x - 10
-5x -5x
-2x = -10
X =5
Answer: x = 5

Reasoning: subtract 5x over to the other side which would make it -2x and subtract 4 from the other side which would make it -10. Which leads you with -2x=-10
Divide both sides by -2 and you get X=5
