2^4x+2^4x+3=144
make factor
(1+2^3)2^4x=144
2^3=8, put it in the equation
(1+8)2^4x=144
(9)2^4x=144
divide both sides by 9
2^4x=16
write 16 in exponential form so that bases become same
2^4x=2^4
cancel 2 from both sides
4x=4
x=4/4
x=1
