Answer:

6 motorcycles/ 9 hours = 16 motorcycles/x hours

to complete a proportion you need to multiply the cross products

9(16)=6x

144=6x

144/6=6/6 x

24=x

it will take 24 hours to produce 16 motorcycles

Answer: x=24

6:9, 16 is to x = 16:x

6/9=16/x

multiply both sides by x

6x/9=16

multiply both sides by 9

6x=144

divide by 6

x=24
