Carbon and oxygen combine to form carbon dioxide.

A chemical equation you might write for this reaction is C(s) + O2(g) → CO2(a).
Does this equation, as it is written, follow the Law of Conservation of Mass?
Whether you answered "yes" or "no", explain how you arrived at that answer.

When a substance changes state, the mass of the substance does not change. the same as the mass of the reactants. Measure and graph quantities to provide evidence that regardless of the type of change that occurs when heating, cooling, or mixing substances, the total weight of matter is conserved.
