Assuming the 2 is supposed to represent squared, the answer is x=13.

(x-7)^2 = 36

1. Take the square root of both sides to “undo” the square. The square of (x-7) is gone and the square root of 36 is 6.

x-7=6

2. Combine like terms by moving over the 7 to 6 (aka add the seven to 6)

and x=13
