Graphing and Analyzing Experimental Data –

A scientist working for the chemical company Dupont, Dr.
Sally Pierpont, has developed a fertilizer called EnviroSafe
that she believes will boost corn yield on farms located in
ecologically sensitive areas such as Maryland's Eastern
Shore where fertilizer runoff is known to adversely impact
native wildlife. Dr. Pierpont is particularly concerned with
protecting wildlife native to the Chesapeake Bay. She
conducted a pair of experiments. In the first study Dr.
Pierpont grew silver-queen corn (a variety of corn
commonly grown in Maryland) in two groups, one group
treated with 10ml of EnviroSafe per plant per day, the other
without. Data from this first experiment are displayed here:
Use the above information to answer the following
questions in the space provided. Be thorough, however
complete sentence answers are not necessary:

2. Create a graph that displays experimental results. The proper type of graph must be selected, graphs must be
properly arranged, and graphs must accurately display experimental data. You may use rulers, calculators, and
colored pencils as you see fit to develop your graphs. A graph must have a title and labeled axes. Use the
rubric as a guide.
