Fractions and Comparisons

  • Level : JHS

1.

The amount of flour used is :

= 4/5 × 15 kg

= 12 kg

The amount of flour left is :

= 15 kg - 12 kg

= 3 kg

2.

5 : 3 = Red : Blue

The amound of blue paint :

= 3 : (3 + 5) × 24 liters

= 3 : 8 × 24 liters

= 9 liters

So, the litres of blue paint did he use is 9 liters
