Answer:

$x - 2 = 0 \\ x = 2 \\ p(2) = 0 \\ {2}^(4) - d {2}^(3) + 8 * {2}^(2) - 14 * 2 + 16 = 0 \\ 16 - 8d + 32 - 28 + 16 =0 \\ 8d = 36 \\ d = 36 / 8 = 4.5$
