Answer:

x = -1.038

Explanation:

- 26x - 12 = 15

- 26x = 15 + 12

- 26x = 27

x = - 27/26

x = - 1.038

Answer:

x would equal -1.03(1 DP)

"-26x - 12 = 15, solve for x."

Explanation:

Start with adding 12 to both sides of the expression. Sides were switched purposely.

15 + 12 = -26x - 12 + 12

Next, simplify your addition process. You do this by using a specific rule.

(-a) = a\:\:\mathrm{if\:a\\eq 0}\\-26x = 26x\\26 + (x)\\= 26 + 1\\= 27\\= -26x=27

Lastly, we are going to divide both sides by -26(x was cancelled).

(-26x)/(-26)=(27)/(-26)

Thus,

x= -1.03

➲ Hope this helps, address any concerns if needed.
