(Solving Linear equations)

I’m doing solving linear equations and I need help do I have to do it this way or can I flip the equation and the answer will be the same? 53=8x+5 .

Explanation

The equation:
53 = 8x + 5

Get 5 to cross over the = sign so it meets its kind which is 53 and then changes to minus(-) due to the equality sign.


53 - 5 = 8x⟹ 48 = 8x

Now divide both sides of the equation by 8 to find the value of x


(48 )/(8) = (8x)/(8)


6 = x

Therefore:


x = 6
