Why the death penalty should be abolished. The death penalty has been used for years as a punishment to harsh crimes, but it violates one of the most basic human rights, the right to live. This right is one of the most basic rights all people are given at birth but the death penalty violates the simplest right we were ever given.

Answer:The death penalty violates the right to life which happens to be the most basic of all human rights. It also violates the right not to be subjected to torture and other cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment or punishment. Furthermore, the death penalty undermines human dignity which is inherent to every human being.
