5 is multiplied by the cube of a number

Explanation:

We will assume “a number” is “a”. When it is cubed it will be represented by

= “a³”.


When we multiply the number with 5 then the new cube will be

= (5a)³

Now distribute the exponent to the factors inside the parentheses.

= 125a³


What happens in the parentheses is 5*5*5 = 125

a*a*a = a³


So by multiplying your number with 5 it gets increased by 125 times.
