Explanation:

parallel means it has the same slope.

the slope of a line is always the factor of x (5 in our case).

so, we have already

y = 5x + ?

we resolve the "?" by using the point coordinates as x and y and solve :

1 = 5×-2 + ?

1 = -10 + ?

? = 11

so, the equation is

y = 5x + 11
