a. To find the mean, you first have to add all of the numbers together. Keep in note that if there is more than 1 dot above the number, such as 2 or 3 dots, then you must add the the amount of dots there are above it. Next, you want to divide the total amount of the numbers by the total amount of numbers you have added to get this. That will be the mean. The mean represents the average amount of wage the college students earn during a 1-week span.

b. Next, you want to find the median. Put all of the numbers together in a line, ranging from smallest to largest. Whatever number is in the middle is going to be your median. Keep note for this as well that if there is, for example, 2 dots above the number, you will have to write the number two times. The median helps interpret the middle, and separates the lower, and high values.

c. No, a box plot is not the same as a dot plot. It can interpret the median, but not the mean. A box-and-whisker plot is usually used when you want to find the IQR (interquartile range).
