Translate into a variable expression. Then simplify.

2. a number n increased by two-thirds of the number

5.The sum of two numbers is twenty-six. Using x to represent the smaller of the two numbers, translate "the difference between two more than the larger number and twice the smaller number" into a variable expression. Then simplify.



6.A financial advisor has invested $14,000 in two accounts. If one account contains x dollars, express the amount in the second account in terms of x.



7. A 9-foot board is cut into two pieces of different lengths. Express the length of the longer piece in terms of the length L of the shorter piece.
