For this, we need to make ratios(unit per unit, in this case, red paint per white paint).

Sydney's Mix -
(7 red)/(4 white)

Maria's Mix -
(5 red)/(3 white)

Both of these fractions are improper, so you can make mixed fractions and then find their common denominators:

Sydney's Mix - 1
(3)/(4) = 1
(9)/(12)

Maria's Mix - 1
(2)/(3) = 1
(8)/(12)

Therefore, they do not have the same shade of pink because 1
(9)/(12)
\\eq 1
(8)/(12) :)
