First you find the value of v, using the equation -5v - 2 = 3. You can't do anything with 4v - 3 yet because it doesn't have a value, an equal sign.

-5v - 2 = 3

Simplify by isolating the variable v in one side of the equation and the value in the other

Add 2 to both sides to shift -2 to the other side

-5v - 2 + 2 = 3 + 2

-5v = 5

Divide both aides by -5

-5v ÷ (- 5 ) = 5 ÷ (-5)

v = -1

Now you got the value of v

Plug v = -1 into 4v - 3

4×(-1) - 3

-4 - 3 = 7

4v - 3 = -7

Hope it helps :)
