Explanation:

You need to re-write the number so that it is 1 or larger but less than 10. To do that, we need to move the decimal 5 spaces to the right. The actually number is smaller. The
10^(-5) is telling me how much smaller the number actually is. To get the number in standard notation I would have to take 7.112 and divide it by 100,000.
