This is a photograph of Saint Peter’s Basilica. Which of the following is true about this structure?

a.
The artist has used texture in a unique fashion, in that he has used line as a form of texture to created a two-dimensional piece. The subject in the painting appears to be moving quickly downwards in a diagonal pattern from top-right to bottom-left.
b.
The artist’s use of diagonal and curvilinear lines helps to move our eyes across the entire structure and helps to reinforce the calmness of the mood he intended to create.
c.
The architect used vertical lines to emphasize the strength and permanence of the building and horizontal caps on the columns to keep the façade from escaping into the heavens and to help contain it as a piece of art.
d.
Although the artist did not use any specific artistic visual element to create this elaborate and appealing structure, the overall composition affectively draws in the observer and the confusion caused by the lack on continuity become unimportant as a result..

Answer:

I'd say that the answer which is true about Saint Peter's Basilica is c.

The architect used vertical lines to emphasize the strength and permanence of the building and horizontal caps on the columns to keep the façade from escaping into the heavens and to help contain it as a piece of art.

This is the only option that actually tells something about the building, the other options talk about some painting.
