The conflict of the war between Britain and the American colonists from 1775 to 1783 was a matter of Britain failing to see the colonists in America as a separate nation. There were many perilous battles the colonists had to push through in order just to gain independence from Britain. In 1776, America was finally seen as an independent nation from Britain and the war stopped. The Treaty of Paris of 1783 ended the war officially. The evidence to support the title of the “American War for Independence” would solely be the names of some battles:

• Battle of Yorktown (last battle)

• Battle of Lexington & Concord

• Battle of Bunker Hill

• Battle at King’s Mountain
