A restrictive clause defines the noun (or phrase) and in the same sentence informs about the noun. An example of a restrictive clause would be the sentence, “ That’s the girl who plays football better than any of the boys!” In this sentence, a restrictive clause is provided by giving a description of what’s significant about the girl; in this case, the significance is she plays football better than the boys.
