Assign x to be your first page number. Your second page number will be one more than x, which means x+1. The sum of what you assigned page one and page two will equal 561.
X+X+1=561
2x+1=561
-1 -1
2x=560
Divide both sides by 2
X=280
X+1=280+1=281
