Given that x is rational

By the property of addition, if 1 is added to any number, it exceeds the next number and doesn't remain the same.

Hence, x + 1 is not equal to x

The given statement is false.

Try This: For every rational number x, x + 0 = x. Is it true or false?

By the property of additive identity, any number added with 0, remains the same.

Hence, x + 0 = x, the given statement is true!
