Answer:

An exponent is a power to a given number that will multiply the given number by itself the number of times the exponent's value represents. Exponents are represented by small, floating numbers that go after the given value in an equation.

Example A:


5^2 = 5 * 5 = 25

Example B:


x^4 + 8 = y
