Lois needs at least 750 gigabytes of storage to take pictures and videos on her upcoming vacation. She checks and finds that she has 215 gigabytes available on her phone. She plans on buying additional memory cards to get the rest of the storage she needs. The cheapest memory cards she can find each hold 256 gigabytes

Let C represent the number of memory cards that Lois buys.

Which inequality describes this scenario?

A. 215C + 256 ≥ 750

B. 215 + 256C ≤ 750

C. 215 + 256C ≥ 750

D. 215C + 256 ≤ 750

Answer:

The answer is c.

Explanation:

You'd know because the 215 in the inequality is what she already has. so the C wouldn't be there because we wouldn't multiply it with the number of cards (C). So that would eliminate option A and option D. Then we'd look at the less than or greater than signs in options B and C. we need at least 750 total. so the symbol can't say less than. so option B is eliminated and option C is the answer.
