If you were walking down the street and saw someone trying to destroy a bike lock, what would you do? Why? Have you ever witnessed someone stealing a bike before or know of someone who had their bike stolen? Explain. Why do people steal bikes so often? Why did the reactions change depending on the gender or race of the person trying to steal it? Is this an example of racism in society? What would the reactions have been like if it was a black woman trying to steal the bike? Would the thief's gender matter in your decision over whether you would speak up or not? What would be the safest way to deal with this situation?

Answer:

If i saw a person stealing or trying to break a bike lock i would yell at them or report them for stealing. I would do this because stealing is bad and the owner of it spent alot of money on it. No, I have not witnessed anyone stealing. people steal bikes to sell, or use them for themselves. The reactions change because people view differnt races as bad or worse then others. It depends if they let a white person steal it but saw a colored person and yelled at the colored person yes, it would be considered racist.if a black woman was trying to steal it she might get yelled at but women arent considered as very bad more of a men issue is stealing. The gender nor their race would matter stealing is stealing and its not ok. The safest way would be to Yell at them to scare them from a distance and hope they dont do it again and if they still steal it call the cops.
