Answer:

The internal conflict refers to the inner struggle that affects a character's mental and emotional state, while external conflict refers to conflict between the main character and any external force (i.e. government, villain, nature, society).

A external conflict in this story is man vs man and man vs nature

An example of this in The Dangerous Game is when General Zaroff relentlessly hunts Rainsford throughout the jungle in Ship-Trap Island.

While the man vs nature conflict presented itself when Rainsford fell into the water in the beginning of the story. He had to struggle and swim in order to stay alive.

The internal conflict is man vs self, shown

in many cases when Rainsford had to choose to participate in Zaroff's hunt or be killed by Ivan. Throughout the hunt, he had to remain calm and tried to overcome his anxiety of being hunted. He had to fight himself to stay on track.

Have a lovely rest of your day! :)
