A chemistry experiment calls for a 30% solution of copper sulfate. Kendra has 40 milliliters of 25% solution. How many milliliters of 60% solution should she add to make a 30% solution?

Answer:

x = 20/3

you will need 20/3 of the 60% solution

Explanation:

0.25(40) + 0.60x = 0.30(x + 40)

10 + 0.60x = 0.30x + 12

0.30x = 2
