How do I test the functionality of a semiconductor diode using a DMM​

Answer:

• Dismount the diode from the circuit board (PCB or veroboard)

• Switch on the DMM and connect its positive (red) probe to anode terminal of a diode as well as a negative (black) probe to the cathode terminal.

• The DMM must be in parameters of continuity.

• If a beep sound is heard, the diode is functioning.
