What are the requirements for House Representatives and Senate selection?

Answer:

As the constitution says, the requirements to be a Member of the House is to:

  • Be at least 25 years old.
  • Be a U.S. citizen for at least seven years.
  • Live in the state they represent, although not necessarily the same county or district.

And to be in the U.S. Senate:

  • Be at least 30 years old.
  • Be a U.S. citizen for at least nine years.
  • Live in the state they represent at the time of election.
