A truck can be rented from Company A for $120 a day plus $0.60 per mile. Company B charges $60 a day plus $0.90 per mile to rent the same truck. Find the number of miles in a day at which the rental costs for Company A and Company B are the same.

Answer:

100 miles

Explanation:

so firstly we can use x to indicate the amount of miles, so we want them to have the same value.

eventually: 120+0.6*x=60+0.9*x

0.6*x-0.9*x=90-120

-0.3*x=-30

so x equals 100
