Given

f(x) = 2x^(2) +1 and
g(x) = 4x-5

a) f(g(2))

First, find the value of g(2) since it is on the inside.

Use g(x) = 4x - 5

Turn every x in the given to a 2

so g(2) = 4(2) - 5

Becomes g(2) = 8 - 5

Finally g(2) = 3

Now we can substitute the g(2) in f(g(2)) with 3 because g(2) = 3

This makes it f(3)

Now do the same thing but this time use given f(x) = 2x^2 + 1

Substitute all x with 3

f(3) = 2(3^2) + 1

Use order of operation f(3) = 2(9) + 1

Then f(3) = 18 + 1`

Finally f(3) = 19

The answer is 19

Do the next one and put the answer in the comments I will check if it is right.

Hope this helps :)
