Walter needs 40 feet of cable to help secure the backyard tree house that he made for

his family. Store A sells the cable for $1.10 per foot. Store B sells the cable for $3.06 per
yard. From which store should Walter buy the cable and how much will he save by
buying it from that store?

Answer:

Store B

$3.20

Explanation:

Store A:

$1.10(40)=$44

Store B:

first let's convert yards to feet

3ft=1yard

$3.06/3=$1.02 per foot

$1.02(40)=$40.80

You would save more by shopping at Store B

to find savings: Store A - Store B= $44-$40.80=$3.20
